For business owners
You can be curious.
And still be in control.
You may be thinking years ahead. You may simply be open to the right conversation. We start by understanding what you want. You don’t need to decide to sell.
The first conversation

Start with the business.
And the person behind it.
We discuss what the company does, how involved you are, and what prompted you to consider a conversation. Your timing and questions shape where we begin.
An inquiry does not list or publicly market your company. You do not need to prepare a formal sale presentation to talk with us.
Useful to begin
Your industry, a broad description of the business, approximate earnings if known, and what you are considering.
Not needed yet
Customer lists, employee records, detailed financial statements, or a data room. Start with context; discuss sensitive details only when their purpose and handling are clear.
How it unfolds
Your permission
sets the pace.
- 01
Begin privately
Share what you are considering. Curiosity, a longer-term plan, or a near-term transition are all valid starting points.
- 02
Understand the context
Discuss the business, your timing, and what a relevant acquirer would need to understand. There is no need to arrive with a sale process prepared.
- 03
Choose whether to meet
If there may be a fit, consider the introduction. Your permission comes before an introduction or the sharing of identifying company information.
- 04
Decide what comes next
You choose whether to continue. We stay involved through check-ins and communication support; you, the buyer, and your respective advisers determine the next steps.
A clear relationship
Buyer-funded.Owner-led decisions.
Our role is the introduction.
The decision is yours.
Signal View helps owners explore conversations with buyers who may be a fit. We start by understanding the business, your timing and what matters to you.
Buyers cover our fees. There’s no charge to owners and no exclusive engagement with us. We stay involved after an introduction, and you choose whether to take things further.
Understand our roleA useful first step
Bring your questions.
Explore the possibilities.
Start with what you want to understand: the buyer’s interests, your timing, or what a transition could mean for the business.
A first conversation gives those questions a place to begin. If an introduction makes sense, you can discuss the buyer’s plans and what matters to you before choosing the next step.

Straight answers
Your questions. Answered plainly.
Clarity before commitment.
What if I am not ready to sell?
That is a reasonable place to start. You can discuss your questions, timing, and priorities without deciding to sell. You can also decide that a buyer conversation is not right for you now.
What does Signal View charge an owner?
Signal View charges owners no fee. Buyers compensate us under separate arrangements. If you pursue a transaction, your own legal, tax, accounting, valuation, and other transaction costs may still apply.
How does Signal View get paid?
Buyers pay our fees under an agreement with us. Owners never pay Signal View a fee, whether you have an initial conversation, meet a buyer or complete a sale.
Do I sign an exclusive agreement?
We do not ask owners to sign an exclusive engagement with Signal View. You remain free to consider other conversations and approaches.
Does contacting you put my company on the market?
No. An inquiry does not create a public listing or authorize public marketing of your company. Our process is a selective conversation about potential fit.
Who will know we spoke?
The first discussion is with Signal View. We will not introduce you or share identifying company information with a third party without your permission. Before sharing sensitive details, we discuss what is needed, who may receive it, and the confidentiality arrangements for that stage.
When is my company’s identity shared?
Only with your permission. We first discuss whether a proposed introduction makes sense and what information you are comfortable sharing.
How does Signal View help me through the process?
We learn about your business and priorities, look for buyers who may be a fit and ask before making an introduction. We stay involved through check-ins and follow-up on questions. You decide what to share and whether to continue. You, the buyer and your respective advisers handle negotiations and transaction terms.
Can my existing advisers participate?
Yes. If you already work with an attorney, CPA, or another adviser, they are welcome to participate. You choose who joins the conversation and when.
Can you tell me what my business is worth?
We can discuss factors acquirers consider, including adjusted EBITDA, growth, recurring revenue, customer concentration, management depth, capital requirements, and buyer fit. This provides context for a buyer conversation rather than a formal valuation. Any proposed price or terms would be explored with the buyer.
How do you determine whether a buyer may fit?
We consider the buyer’s acquisition mandate alongside the company’s sector, approximate size, and owner context. Timing, expectations, and priorities beyond price also matter. An introduction gives both sides a chance to explore that alignment directly.
What happens after an introduction?
The owner and buyer decide whether to continue. Signal View stays involved through check-ins, milestones, information gathering, and communication gaps. Diligence, terms, and any transaction remain matters for the parties and their advisers. There is no obligation to proceed because you met.
What about my employees, customers, and brand?
Tell us what matters to you early: the team, customer relationships, culture, company name, and your own future role. These priorities give the buyer conversation direction. You can explore the buyer’s plans and discuss how those priorities might be reflected in a potential transition.
What if my industry isn’t listed?
We consider businesses across most industries. The sectors shown on this site are examples, not an exhaustive list. Tell us about your business and what you are considering. Potential fit depends on the company, your goals, and a buyer’s acquisition mandate.
Whenever the time is right
A private conversation can clarify what comes next.
A conversation is not a commitment.
